The Antelope Valley Winegrowers Association, founded in 2006, has brought together winegrowers and winemakers to form a collective voice for the promotion and advancement of an ever growing wine industry in the Antelope Valley.
We are pleased to announce the approval of the Leona Valley, AVA(American Viticulture Area). The Sierra Pelona, AVA(Agua Dulce and Mint Canyon area)
is in its final reveiw and the Antelope Valley of California's High Desert, AVA and the Tehachapi/Cummings Valley, AVA are soon to follow. The approval of these AVA's brings world class recogintion to the Antelope Valley Winegrowers thanks to the tutelage of Ralph and Marrie Carter.
The Association also works with local cities and counties to facilitate the development of wine related business and tourism in our area. Members regularly participate in the formation of public policy as it relates to agriculture and community development. This is in an effort to preserve our local heritage of grape growing and winemaking that dates back to the 1890's.
