The Antelope Valley Winegrowers Association, founded in 2006, has brought together winegrowers and winemakers to form a collective voice for the promotion and advancement of an ever growing wine industry in the Antelope Valley.
We are pleased to announce the approval of the Antelope Valley of the California High Desert, AVA, Leona Valley, AVA, and the Sierra Pelona, AVA(Agua Dulce and Mint Canyon area) abd in its final review and the Tehachapi/Cummings Valley, AVA soon to follow.
The approval of these American Viticultural Areas brings world class recognition to the Winegrowers of our areas and allows labeling to reflect regional characteristic and terrior. The Association extends many thanks for the expertise and perseverance of Ralph and Marie Carter in the formation of our AVA's.
The Association works closely with our local cities and counties to facilitate the development of wine related business and tourism in our area. Members regularly participate in the formation of public policy as it relates to agriculture and community development. This is in an effort to preserve our local heritage of grape growing and winemaking that dates back to the 1890's.
