The Antelope Valley Winegrowers Association, founded in 2006, has brought together winegrowers and winemakers to form a collective voice for the promotion and advancement of an ever growing wine industry in the Antelope Valley.
The Association is currently, with the expertise of Ralph Carter, moving
forward to bring national and worldwide recognition to the Antelope Valley
as a unique grape growing region. There will be four specific AVA's
(American Viticultural Areas) as recognized by the TTB(Tax and Trade Bureau)
a branch of the U.S. Federal Government.
The Association also works with local cities and counties to facilitate the development of wine related business and tourism in our area. Members regularly participate in the formation of public policy as it relates to agriculture and community development. This is in an effort to preserve our local heritage of grape growing and winemaking that dates back to the 1890's.
